Town of Pamplin City

The Town of Pamplin City is a small incorporated community straddling the Appomattox County - Prince Edward County line along US Route 460. The town serves as an important service center for the rural areas of eastern Appomattox County, western Prince Edward County and northern Charlotte County.

Pamplin is also the western terminus of one of Virginia's newest State Parks--High Bridge Trail State Park. A 30-mile long linear park built on an abandoned railroad right-of-way, High Bridge Trail is a multi-use trail ideally suited for hiking, biking and horseback riding. The centerpiece of the trail is High Bridge, a railroad bridge over 2,400 feet long and 160 feet high above the Appomattox River.
